Hometown Brooklyn:
Launch Party Pictures, Schemes Revealed

Last Friday Take the Handle hosted a party at East River Bar to celebrate the release of our Hometown Issue. The concept behind the party was that everyone would wear shirts from their hometown, then in the bar’s backyard a map of the United States would be unfurled. With the help of an aerobics instructor and use of time-lapse photography we would create an interactive, calisthenic map of our geographic readership. Due to an email error we forgot to pass the instructions on to either the partygoers or the aerobics instructor and the idea was ruined. The party, however, was a big success with plenty of corner-pocket-calling, deep conversations and booty dancing. Thanks to East River Bar, Sailor Jerry Rum, Lori Vroegindewey for the beautiful new banner and Photographer Matt Taplinger of Nonformat for the incredible pictures you see below.
